ROCKIN’ WOMEN RAISING THE BARN FOR
THE SURFRIDER FOUNDATION
Blame Sally, Jill Knight and Lindsay Tomasic perform
at the Cayucos Creek Barn - Saturday, April 12
CAYUCOS, CA – A beautiful rural coastal location, a century’s old barn and acclaimed rockin’ women are the perfect storm to create a tidal wave of good times and great music that will raise the roof on Saturday, April 12 in a benefit concert for the Surfrider Foundation. San Francisco based and local favorite Blame Sally headlines a spring day of original music with local singer/songwriter Jill Knight and Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Lindsay Tomasic and her band, String Planet. The doors open at 2 p.m. with a 2:40p.m. concert start. Food from top local restaurants, American Flatbread / Full of Life Pizza and Honeymoon Café, as well as beverages from local favorites Cayucos Beer Company, Barrel 27 Wine company, Four Vines Winery and Peachy Canyon will be sold on-site. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children’s tickets (6-17 years) are $5 and kids under 5 years are free. Advanced tickets can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/28159.
"This concert is about spending the day outdoors with friends and family while helping the Surfrider Foundation protect our local beaches and ocean,” says Judith Cohen, concert promoter with Sage7 Productions. “These women can rock as well as perform beautiful acoustic melodies. It’s fantastic to have such talented instrumentalists/songwriters together. I’m sure there will be some musical surprises during the day.”
BLAME SALLY
A Central Coast favorite, Blame Sally is finally receiving the attention fans and critics have long felt overdue. As quoted recently in their hometown paper, the San Francisco Chronicle: “Dallas has its Dixie Chicks, and San Francisco has Blame Sally, the difference being that Blame Sally’s music is a little more indie, a little less country and a little more brainy.”
Blame Sally’s Pam Delgado, Renee Harcourt, Jeri Jones and Monica Pasqual have been playing and recording together since 2000. They have released three discs since 2001, including last years popular Severland. The album, their first nationally distributed by the Ryko/Warner label via Dig Music, includes an updated version of a war protest song they wrote back in 2001 titled “If You Tell a Lie.” The track caught the attention of Neil Young who put their music video of the same name on his Living With War Web site. In good company, the video ranked #2 in downloads among videos by Pink, Pearl Jam, Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earle and many more.
Catapulting the band to increased national and international attention, XM Radio invited Blame Sally to perform a one hour live concert on Starbuck’s XM Café after Severland climbed to the Number One spot on the Café chart. The performance was recorded and played a number of times to an audience of millions. The success of the XM Radio gig helped launch a national radio campaign with their single “Fillmore Street” at the forefront.
Blame Sally is no stranger to the Central Coast. Lead vocalist/percussionist Pam Delgado grew up in Arroyo Grande and the band has played at the Strawberry Festival and the Live Oak Music Festival.

JILL KNIGHT
Jill Knight has a voice that, once you hear it, you’ll never forget it. Born in South Carolina and raised on an island just off Savannah, Georgia, Knight has a soulful sound. India Arie once quoted about Knight after hearing her in San Francisco, “I thought I heard the voice of an angel.” Arie then asked Knight to open for her.
A part-time Cambria resident, Jill has released two discs. Future Perfect debuted in 1999 to stellar reviews. The San Francisco Chronicle commented, “Jill Knight must be the most conspicuously talented singer-songwriter-arranger-producer you haven’t heard of –yet.” Knight lives part-time in San Francisco and collaborates and performs with Blame Sally’s Jeri Jones. Jill’s second disc called Imaginary Line was released in 2004. It is infused with smooth jazz and acoustic melodies sure to please. Her 1999 release "Future Perfect", has songs featured in the motion picture, "Stranger than Fiction", and also on the Oxygen Network. Jill has shared stages with Shawn Colvin, Richard Thompson, David Wilcox, Los Lobos, Toni Childs, Phoebe Snow and many other such talented artists.
Knight can be found performing frequently at the Cambria Pines Lodge and at local wineries. More info on Jill Knight can be found on www.jillknight.com.
